Learn Kung Fu with Master Chow Chin Ching, inheritor of Kwongsai Jook Lum Temple (Bamboo Forest) Praying Mantis Kung Fu, a type of Southern Style Praying Mantis Kung Fu that was handed down from his Hakka ancestors and dates back over 2000 years. This type of kung fu is used for real fights (not performance kung fu). Practitioners of this style are well known for their agile iron bodies and lightening speed, it is intense and incredibly powerful. Students will learn how to: change and be fluid, act and react to an opponents challenge, use weapons with deftness and fluidity, be precise, powerful and accurate.
Class Focus:
1. Breathing - Chi
Through Master Chows training , students will learn to control their Chi, because of this the body and bones will become stronger and harder while maintaining and increasing flexibility. An iron body is a basic requirement from Master Chows style of Kung Fu.
2. Speed
Our Kung Fu is an unpredictable split second explosive power type of Kung Fu with perfect technique that is elastic, accurate and precise.
3. Power
The power of our Kung fu is imposing and formidable and therefore used for real fighting. By connecting the mind and body, students will be able to maximize the energy that can explode from their bodies.
4. Technique.
For 2000 years Chows ancestors, Hakka people from China, passed down closely guarded secret Kung Fu techniques that were used to protect themselves from invaders. Like breathing and sleeping it was an inherit part of daily life learnt from childhood. Because their lives depended on their ability to defend themselves mistakes could not be made, so fighting techniques had to be precise. With each generation improvements were made and their Kung Fu was perfected.
5. Mind and Spirit
Passed down from his ancestors, Master Chow’s Kung Fu will train the mind and spirit to be calm and thoughtful. Through mindful concentration, movements will be well controlled and exact.
