The Power Of Kung Fu Inadvertently Revealed
Despite my father being a great Kung Fu master he has always been a humble man and has never been one to show off his strength and power. So a small event that occurred about ten years ago came as a great surprise to me. He and I went to my grandmothers home to have lunch one afternoon, after lunch my auntie took out a pack of walnuts for us to have as a snack. She placed them onto the table in front of us and then went back to the kitchen to look for a pair of pliers that would help us to crack the hard walnut shells open. My father who was sitting at the table said that there was no need for the pliers. He then took one of the walnuts and held it in his palm, he wrapped all five of his fingers around it and tightened his grip, when he opened his hand the shell was broken! I still remember that moment. He took one of the walnut pieces and threw it into his mouth. Within a 1 or 2 minutes he had opened more than half of them! There were only a few remaining when my aunt finally located the pliers.
My father wasn't doing a demonstration, he was just doing a simple thing on an ordinary day. It didn't take much power for him to open them. He was just sitting on a chair, his face and body completely relaxed. I had no idea that my father, who was at that time in his late 50's, still had this kind of strength. This is the power of Kung Fu!
